This wine is named in honor of the Portuguese explorers’ discovery of the spice rout to India, and true to its name it drinks smoothly with plenty of spice. Soft tannins deftly bring out the notes of dark berries and black pepper over a long juicy finish. Pair this red blend with smoked brisket, barbecued pork or pasta with tomato sauce.
